Problem
I was tasked to design a brochure that would increase tourism in Orange County, California. I was asked to determine: A) who my target audience would be, B) what attractions were worth highlighting, C) how to make this brochure stand out. The brochure must adhere to copyright standards and use imagery that is relevant and high quality.

Solution

As a Southern California native, some of my fondest childhood memories were made in Orange County, particularly at iconic theme parks like Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm. Inspired by those experiences, I designed a brochure aimed at families with young children. My goal was to showcase the top attractions in a way that felt vibrant, engaging, and relevant to modern families. I carefully selected two font families and a limited color palette of two primary colors to maintain clarity and ensure the information and imagery remained the focus. To enhance the brochure's playful and welcoming tone, I incorporated organic shapes that would appeal not only to parents but also to their children.
